Should i buy a tippman?

I've been looking into wether or not i should get a tippman 98 custom and either modify it into a smg or wether i should put a 20 inch barrel. I am looking to upgrade my sonix with a 20 inch barrel. I usaully play speedball i've heard that i should not get a tippman and go with an agle or ion or something along the lines witht that. Any suggestions? If i do get a tippman should i get teh 98 custom or the 98 with the removable rail in fron the U.S army version
