God doesn't guide me because I changed my religion?

I was brought up as a Christian and in 1990 I converted to Islam, whilst studying Science. I read many books, including the Qur'an. I believe in the Qur'an and therefore I became Muslim. After practicing for almost 20 years, I am still not married. Islam has many different cultures and I integrated into one. The people of this culture live in another country, where I spend every annual holidays and apply for jobs. The fact that I have no Guardian prevents me from taking matters further. My life is an empty, loveless existence. Am I expected to make arrangements, consulting the Qaadi?
