Pleas help me i have lost all of my work?

i have a project in Windows movie maker that is really impostant, everytime i try and open it wmm crashes on the "Checking Project Files" Screen which is really anoying. i tried downloading WMM from microsoft but they only give you 2.6 and not the one that came with vista so i'm stuck as this can't open my project. and moving the project to anotehr computer means that the project wont work anyway.
